Privacy Policy

This policy covers stigsolution.com, including the documentation and download pages, and what STIG Solution LLC’s applications send to us. It is short because we collect very little.

The website

stigsolution.com sets no cookies, runs no analytics or advertising, and loads no scripts from other companies. There are no user accounts. Searching the documentation happens entirely in your browser.

The site and its downloads are hosted on Amazon Web Services. As with any website, AWS receives your IP address and the details your browser sends in order to deliver pages and files to you. We do not keep access logs of visits or downloads.

Email updates

If you subscribe to our email updates, your email address is stored by Mailchimp, a service of Intuit Inc., which delivers those emails and handles unsubscribes on our behalf. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe, and you can also ask us to remove your address. Mailchimp’s handling of your information is described in the Intuit Privacy Statement.

Email to us

When you email us, we use your message and contact details to reply, to quote or invoice a license, and to provide support. Our email is hosted by Microsoft 365. If you send files, logs, or screenshots with a support request, please remove any Controlled Unclassified Information or other restricted data first.

Our applications

Your checklists, scan results, POA&Ms, and other data stay on your own systems. None of our applications send that data to us.

STIGreviewer has no license key, performs no activation, and makes no network connection to us.

NESSviewer and STIGrevolution check their license with licensing.stigsolution.com over HTTPS. That check sends your license key, a one-way cryptographic hash of hardware and system identifiers for the device, and the application version. The hash lets us enforce activation limits without learning the identifiers themselves. We store those details, with the date and time of each check, on Microsoft Azure for the license term plus twelve months, then delete them. The full terms are in each product’s end-user license agreement.

AI features are off until you connect a provider you choose. Anything you send to that provider goes under your own account and that provider’s terms. Nothing is routed through us.

Who else handles your information

Only the service providers named above: Amazon Web Services for the website, Mailchimp for email updates, Microsoft 365 for email to us, and Microsoft Azure for license checks. We do not sell your information or share it with anyone for their own marketing. We will disclose information where the law requires it.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from email updates at any time, from any of those emails. You can ask what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing mail@stigsolution.com. License records needed to keep an active license working are kept as described above.

Children

This site and our applications are for professional use and are not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
